Listener Placement
Listener markers let you designate specific positions in your model — audience seats, microphone stands, mix positions — as acoustic receivers. Once marked, you can use the Filter to Listener option in the First Reflections Calculator to show only ray paths that reach those positions.
Marking an object as a listener
- Right-click any object in your model
- Select SketchAcoustics → Mark as Listener
The object is now a listener marker and will be used as a target for ray filtering.
Removing listeners
Option A — via the menu:
Go to Plugins → SketchAcoustics → Delete Listeners
Option B — via right-click:
- Right-click an object you previously marked
- Select SketchAcoustics → ✓ Listener (the checkmark indicates it is currently marked)
Using listeners with First Reflections
Once listeners are placed, enable Filter to Listener in the First Reflections Calculator settings. Only rays that intersect a listener object will be shown, which makes it much easier to analyse the acoustic path to a specific position in a complex model.
